THE EPOXY FOAM CORE USAGE STEPS

1.Preheat the machine: Preheat the temperature of the hot press plate to 140℃-150℃ and keep it for more than 30 minutes.

2.Preheat the mold: Push the mold into the press and preheat it for about 1 minute to make the mold temperature reach 50-60℃, then evenly spray 1-3 times of epoxy foam special release agent (or a feasible release agent), and ensure that the solvent of the release agent on the mold surface is completely evaporated.

3.Calculate the feeding amount: The feeding amount is the volume of the mold multiplied by the used foaming density. Tear the rubber strips one by one and weigh them to reach the required feeding amount.

4. Lay the material: Lay the material according to the thickness of the mold cavity, lay more in the thick places and less in the thin places (to make the density of each part of the core material after foaming as close as possible), and then effectively lock the upper and lower molds.

5. Heating and forming: The temperature of the heating platen is 140℃-150℃, and the temperature and time of the mold surface need to meet one of the following conditions:

  • a.When the surface temperature of the upper and lower molds reaches 120℃, maintain heating and pressurization for 15-25 minutes;
  • b.When the surface temperature of the upper and lower molds reaches 130℃, maintain heating and pressurization for 18-30 minutes.

6. Cooling: When the surface temperature of the mold drops to 30℃-40℃, it can be removed and opened.

7. Open the mold to take out the core material.

8. Combine with carbon fiber prepare for later forming: It is recommended that the forming platen temperature is 140℃-150℃, and the time refers to the curing time of the prepare, it is recommended to be 15-30 minutes.

9. Cooling: When the surface temperature of the mold drops to 30℃-40℃, it can be removed and opened.

Storage & Transportation:

The epoxy foam core is necessary to stand at room temperature for more than 1 hour to soften before use, keeping it in a dry place during the period. The rest material should be packed well in low low-temperature room, and it must be used up within 30 days. if it exceeds the storage period, please evaluate carefully whether it can be used, any potential consequences caused shall be borne by the user.

The temperature of Storage and Validity

The temperature of epoxy foam core before foaming is required as following below.

  • a.Storage at 25℃ , the Valid for 30 days.
  • b.Storage at 15℃ , the Valid for 60 days.
  • c.Storage at 0℃ , the Valid for 120 days
